Senior Transportation Program

The Senior Transportation Program (STP) was developed and implemented with Measure B Gap funds through the Alameda County Transportation Commission. Its services complement those of paratransit. Eligible seniors who require door-to-door service for medical appointments and cannot utilize paratransit may be driven by volunteers.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Seniors 60 and over
  • Living in Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton or Sunol
  • Unable to find a ride with a relative, friend or public transportation
  • Need a ride to a medical appointment or service

Hours: Senior Transportation Program’s accompanied trips must occur between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Cost: The Senior Transportation Program’s services are free of charge.

Service Area:  We will attempt to find a volunteer driver and/or escort for a medical appointment anywhere in the Greater Bay Area.

Driver:  Volunteers are community members who are interested in helping seniors.  Volunteer drivers and escorts are recruited, screened, trained and supervised by Senior Support Program staff. Criminal background checks are conducted on all volunteers. Volunteers drive their own cars and must abide by strict privacy and confidentiality guidelines.
